Down the Hall on Saturday Night
Concert held on Saturday 3rd November 2007
“Down the Hall on Saturday Night” had something for everyone.
Capital Harmony Chorus revived the days of the dance hall in a show that truly had something for everyone.
Bishop Viard College, Porirua, became the Whykickamoocow Village Hall on Saturday, 3 November.
The large and enthusiastic audience was treated to acappella singing, award winning country music, Kiwiana skit with sing-along and the chance to dance to a jazz band.
Capital Harmony Chorus performed love songs, kiwi sing-along songs and traditional Maori songs, followed by items from two quartets from within the chorus. He Tangata national chorus also sang impressively, as part of their weekend workshop.
The audience also loved award winning country singers the Miti Family and the evening concluded with dancing to the grooves of jazz band Wellington Heads who performed their own New Zealand flavoured material.
The supper was impressively catered and the decorations - including giant jandals - helped set the scene.
The work put in to the show really paid off with a great night for performers and audience alike.
